Ramonia Lee Matheney, age 70, of 1206 Red Top Orchard Road, Waynesboro, Virginia, and formerly of Nimrod Hall, Millboro, died Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Envoy Nursing Home in Staunton.

She was born September 7, 1939 in Bath County, Virginia, a daughter of the late William B. and Mary Matheney Matheney.

She was of the Baptist faith and attended Horeb Baptist Church in Millboro.

She was very popular at Grandview Residence.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John Matheney, Bernard Matheney and Garland Matheney; two sisters, Ruby Downey and Evelyn McCombs; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by two sisters, Clara Dameron of Salem and Shirley Dodd and husband, Charlie of Lick Run, Eagle Rock; a brother-in-law, James McCombs of West Virginia; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend Mike Rollins officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date in Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Millboro. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Horeb Baptist Church, Millboro, VA 24460.
