Son of Jacob Altringer & Catherine Molitor; he was a carpenter.

Married Lizzie Schuler on 13 Jan 1891, and Mrs. Magdalena Olinger Wagner on 10 July 1918, both marriages in Kane Co., IL.

In 1910 Census he & Elizabeth had daughters Margaret, 18, Frances, 16, and Ruth, 4. Father-in-law John Schuler, 76, widowed, was with them.

In 1920 Census he had remarried Lena M., 51, born IL, parents born Luxembourg. Ruth, 13, was with them.

Daughter Margaret married Anker Asbjorne Kostrup on 7 May 1912 in Kane Co.; they were in Flint, MI in 1920, and had a daughter Alverda who was born in 1914. In 1934, Alverda was married to Don Davis & living in Flint, and having a son, Don Davis Jr. in 1936.

1930 Census shows Thomas G. Haydon, 38, wife Frances K., 31, and son Jack, 0, in Aurora and James J. Perry, 26, and wife Ruth, 24 in Flint, MI.

Peter Altringer, 63, died Saturday night after a brief illness. His home was at Farnsworth avenue and Front street.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Kostrup, of Aurora, Mrs. Jack Perry, of Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Thomas Haydon, of Naperville.

Mr. Altringer was a member of the Luxemburger club and the St. Nicholas Catholic Order of Foresters, No. 171.

The funeral will be held at 9 o'clock tomorrow morning from the Daleiden chapel and at 9:30 from St. Therese's church. Burial will be in the Marywood cemetery. Friends wishing to see Mr. Altringer may call at the Daleiden chapel tonight.

Note: Death record gives cemetery as St. Nicholas.
