Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. She was a member of the United States Olympic Swimming Team that competed at the 1948 Summer Olympic Games in London, England. Along with her teammates Thelma Kalama, Brenda Helser, and Ann Curtis, she won the Gold Medal in the Women's 4×100 meter Freestyle Relay. The team's time of 4:29.2 set an Olympic Games record, and beat out teams from Great Britain and the Netherlands.
