Elizabeth Fast was born to Helena O (Kroeker) and Peter T. Fast a few months after the Galveston, Texas storm.


At 2 1/2 years of age the family moved to Jansen, Nebraska.

In 1912 they moved to Litchfield, Nebraska. Elizabeth gave her heart to Jesus and was baptized on August 15, 1915 at the age of 14 years.


In 1918 the family moved to Paxton, Nebraska, where she met and married Jacob T. Thiessen.

To this union were born 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. Nine of these children were born in Nebraska. In 1941 they moved to Oregon and the youngest girl was born in 1943.


She is survived by: Three sisters: Marie Klippenstein of Friend, Nebraska; Sara Aitken and Ann Hooge of Dallas, Oregon. Her sons: Levi and his wife Rosie of Dallas; Raymond and his wife Cora of Salem,; Harry's wife Doris of Dinuba, California; Marvin and his wife Lois of Reedley, California; Allen and his wife Janet of Woodburn. Her Daughters: Ruth and her husband Vessie Eldredge of Woodburn; Delores and her husband Ralph Smith of Visalia, California; Helen and her husband Don Berg of Dallas; Betty and her husband Bill Jondahl of Portland; and Norma Walden of Portland. She is also survived by 10 grandsons, 13 granddaughters and 41 great-grandchildren.


Preceding her in death were her husband Jacob Thiessen, son Harry Thiessen and granddaughter Shelly Lynne Thiessen.
