Albert H. Kiracofe, age 92, of Gratis, OH died on Tuesday, May 26, 2010 at his home. He was born in Gratis on Dec. 15, 1917 to Martin Luther and Lucy (Eby) Kiracofe. He was a graduate of Gratis High School and Miami University. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Coast Guard. He had worked as a teacher, assistant superintendent and later superintendent of Preble Shawnee School District for 37 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of Gratis Church of the Brethren, Gratis Lions Club and many professional organizations through the years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita in 1995, 8 brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Victoria Kiracofe.

He is survived by 4 sons, Daniel (Caroline duPont) Kiracofe, Cooper City, FL., Gary (Dawn Sanducky) Kiracofe, Door County, WI., Greg (Karen) Kiracofe, Centerville, OH., Brian Kiracofe, Newport R.I., 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, a twin brother, C. Alfred Kiracofe, Bradenton, FL and sister, Betty Willis, Gratis.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11 am at the Community Christian Church, 11 Dorsey Akers Dr, West Alexandria, OH. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Gratis. Visitation will be held Friday, May 28, 2010 4-7 pm at the West Alexandria Community Christian Church and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Gratis Church of the Brethren or the Brethren Retirement Home. Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Gratis, is in charge of arrangements.
