Edith was born in Lima, Ohio but in 1920 she found herself living in Iowa, according to the 1920 census, where her brother Harold was born in 1912 and her sister Florence was born in 1920.

On September 20, 1926 she married to Frederick Archer in Ohio. They never had any children, but always wanted them. I remember that when my sister June was born in 1953 (June was Edith's sister Alice's daughter) Aunt Edith and Uncle Fred tried very hard to get my parents to let them adopt her. June was the 4th child in a matter of 5 years for the Dawson's and the Archers wanted children very badly. Of course my parents said 'no'.

Aunt Edith was a very bad diabetic. She lived out most of the rest of her life on Calumet Street before she died, but eventually passed away while in a long-term care facility in Lima, Ohio.
