Ontonagon - Edward Skoviak, Sr. 72, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening at his home at 401 Cane Court, Ontonagon.
Mr. Skoviak was born in Painesdale, Sept. 15, 1903. He received his education in Painesdale area and married Barbara Iskra Nov. 24, 1927 in Painesdale.
Mrs. Skoviak passed away Nov. 20, 1974. They lived in Painesdale til 1946 when they moved to White Pine. A few years ago they moved to Ontonagon.
Mr. Skoviak worked as a millwright in the White Pine Copper Mine. He retired in 1963.
Surviving are 2 sons, Edward & Joseph, Ontonagon, 5 daughters, Mrs. Allen Lowrie, Williamston, Mi. Mrs. Lloyd Casey, Mrs. Jerry Monk, Mrs. Lloyd Taeger & Mrs. James Greiser, Ontonagon, 17 grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mrs. Celia Kolar, Idaho, Mrs. Walter Risch, Milwaukee & Florence Michelich of Ypsilanti & 3 brothers, Mike of Painesdale, Clement of Bisbee, Az and Stanley of Detroit.
The Allen Cane Funeral Home will open for visitation Sunday 1 p.m. Rosary services will be at 8 p.m. Funeral services at the Holy Family Catholic church, Monday 10 a.m. with
Rev. David Harris to officiate.
Interment at the Riverside Vault for spring burial in the Holy Family Cemetery.
