son of Jacob and Eliza Virginia (Startzman) Eckstine; brother of John Martin, James Richard, Mary Ruth, Nellie Virginia, Bettie Mae, Lily Irene, Charles Samuel and infant son; husband of Iola Miller. Uncle Ex loved to fish and 'lived' in a trailer by the Potomac River at Williamsport, MD, although he and Aunt Iola had lovely in-town apartment. They owned and operated a dance palace in Hagerstown, Maryland.
