GLADYS M ALBRIGHT-85: Davenport, passed away at her home Thursday [1-13]. Born 08 Nov 1919 to Albert & Mary Sherbonda Sawvell, she was united in marriage to JohnH Albright in 1938 in Marquette IA; he died 23 May 1969 in Davenport. She was employed by Petersen's, StLuke's Hospital (Genesis East) many years in housekeeping & later for DavisSportswear until 2002 when her health would not allow her to continue working. She loved to go out to eat with her daughter & husband, never missing a Friday evening dinner; a trip to the riverboat & Sunday morning breakfast. She loved to eat & create meals, camping & being outside. She lived in the same house more than 50 years & enjoyed gardening. She loved having pizza parties with her grandchildren. Gladys played bingo, went shopping with her sister, picked berries, always being where the fun was. She always would say "I really had a great time today" after an outing with her family.
Those left to honor her memory are her dau & son-in-law, Judy & Larry Franklin-Davenport; sister: Darlene Frost-Davenport; bros: Bill Sawvell-Davenport; Leroy Sawvell-Bettendorf; grandchildren, Sally Urda, Denise Cox, Mike Franklin, Linda Hasson & Ben Albright; & 12 gr-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, John "Jack" Albright, sisters: Mary Stroyan, Mabel Valley & Violet Donahue & bros: Arthur & Leonard Sawvell.
Service will be Monday morn [1-17] in Runge Mortuary Chapel-Davenport; cremation rites will be accorded. Inurnment will be in Fairmount Cem-Davenport. Memorials may be made to Handicapped Development Center-Davenport.
