Bertha C. Bolander Rodgers, 92, of Ste Marie, Illinois passed away at 10:15 p.m., Monday, May 24, 2010 at Lakeland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Effingham, IL.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Ste. Marie, IL with the Fr. Al Kemme celebrating mass.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery in Ste. Marie, IL. Visitation will be held one hour before the services, Friday, May 28, 2010 at church. In loving memory of Bertha, memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church or for masses in her memory. The Blake-Buchanan Funeral Home in Newton, IL is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bertha was born on August 10, 1917 near Ste. Marie, IL the daughter of John and Sarah (Clark) Frauli.
She married Andrew Bolander and later Archie Rogers. Both preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and worked at the Senior Citizens Center for several years. Bertha was a member of the St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Altar Society and enjoyed gardening.
Bertha is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Chamberlain of Herrick; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; sister, Helen Linder of Robinson; sister-in-laws, Ruby Frauli of Willow Hill, Anne Bolander of South Dakota and Dorothy Potts of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, son-in-law Wesley Chamberlain, a great-grandson, four brothers and two sisters.
