Annie Lou "Memmie" Epps, 98, of Danielsville, died peacefully surrounded by
her family on Tuesday, September 5, 2006.

A life-long resident of this area, she was the daughter of the late Hester
Lester and Howard Wheless. She was retired from Chicopee Mills after 50 years.

Mrs. Epps was preceded in death by her husband, Ramey C. Epps.

She was a Christian woman and a mother to all she knew, according to loved ones.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hawkins, Danielsville; son, Donald Epps,
Comer; sister, Clyde Parham, Jackson County; eight grandchildren, Terry
Weatherbee, Keith Epps, Kevin Epps, Elissa Mize, Tammy Owens, Tiffany Dixon, Charlotte Lynn Evans and Rhonda Evans; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 8, in the chapel of Lord &
Stephens Funeral Home, East, with the Rev. David Strickland officiating.

Burial was in Oconee Hill Cemetery.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
