ASHEVILLE – Keaver Strait Adams, 89, of 42 Gaston Mountain Road passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Lancaster, SC, he had resided in Canton, OH prior to moving to Asheville in 1991. He retired from the Hoover Company in North Canton, OH where he served as supervisor of the foundry and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

Mr. Adams was a son of the late Henry Custer Adams and Lillar Violet Sowell Adams. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Ronna Lee Destefano and 10 brothers and sisters.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Violet Elma Farber Adams of the home; daughter, Sherra Lee Brokaw and husband, William of Asheville; grandchildren, Trissa Adams, Trina Sandler, Courtney Brown, Jason Brokaw, Terissa Miller, Tonya Oxford, Adam Hiltner and Kaylin Lang; great grandchildren, Avery and Kyle Sandler and brother, John Adams of Lancaster, SC.

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Brackett and Elder Boston Raith officiating. Burial will follow in Shepherd Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Sunday prior to services at the funeral home.
