Marvin R. Cardin, 85, of Churubusco, died Saturday, Dec. 6,
2008, at his residence. Born June 20, 1923, in Madisonville,
Tenn., he worked 20+ years at Bluffton Rubber Co., retiring in
1998. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Philippines 1942-
1945 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II 1945-
1950.
He is survived by daughters, Carole (Michael) Kindler of
Ossian, Kathi Jo Cardin of Santa Barbara, Calif., Pamela
Anderson of Bluffton and Paula (Randy) Brown of Angola;
daughter-in-law, Donna Anderson of Bluffton; brother,
Norman (Millie) Cardin of Arizona; sister-in-law, Polly Cardin of
Bluffton; eight grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane (Scott) Cardin,
on Sept. 16, 1999, whom he married May 22, 1976, in
Bluffton; parents, Alfred and Grace (Humphreys) Cardin; son,
Jim Anderson; siblings, Marge Henry, Corine Cardin, Barney
Cardin and Boyd Cardin.
Service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak
Funeral Home, 120 W. Mill St. Ossian; Rev. Larry Sprinkle
officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the
funeral home. Burial in Elm Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.
