Franklin Adams, member of one of Johnson county's pioneer families, was born on the Adams homestead about one mile from where he lived at the time of his death. He was born February 19, 1868, the son of John A. and Dorothy Mack Adams. He had spent his entire life in the community. He was one of ten children, eight of whom survive. Mr. Adams was united in marriage with Mildred McCoy on June 15, 1898, at Creighton, Mo. Following their marriage they moved to the farm where they have since resided. To them were born two children, who with Mrs. Adams survive. They are Mrs. Charles Mason of the home community, and Mrs. Erma Lafferty of Kansas City.
He is also survived by two grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Margaret Wegener died June 30, 1927, at Eldon, Mo. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. John George, Arch Adams and Elmer Adams of Roscoe, Montana; Fred G. Adams; Mrs. Wesley Thorpe, Haviland, Kansas; Mrs. Dan Burford of near Leeton; Mrs. Jesse Fitzgerald, Peace Valley, Mo.; and John Adams of Denver, Colo.
