George L. Ridgeway, 85, of Columbia
died Monday, July 29, 1996, at Boone
Hospital Center.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday,
Aug. 2, at Parker Funeral Chapel
with the Rev. John Yonker officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park
Cemetery. Visitation will be from
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, at
the funeral home.

Mr. Ridgeway was born July 27, 1911,
in Kansas City to William Jefferson
and Esther Crook Ridgeway.

He married Orpha Ridgeway on March 8,
1934, and she preceded him in death.

He lived here in Columbia all his life
and served on the Columbia police force
in the 1930s.

Mr. Ridgeway was a member of First
Christian Church.

Survivors include a son, William Ridgeway
of St. Louis; a daughter, Anne Borgmann
of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a brother, John
Ridgeway of Columbia; three grandchildren;
and a great-grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by his sister.
