Richard was a Washington State native, growing up in the Tacoma area and residing in Eastern Washington since the 1940's. He was a successful businessman starting his business in Soap Lake called, Basin Vending Service. At one time he had ofices in Moses Lake, Wenatchee and Ephrata and virtually had all the vending in those areas during the 1950 and 60's. His business was much of his life up until the day he died. He spent time in Phoenix Arizona in his later years. He enjoyed boating, fishing and flying. He is survived by 4 of his 5 children: Diane Rose, Norman Leif, Rosalie Louise, Debra(stillborn) and Dale Edward and also had a step daughter Valerie and their spouses. He had 9 grand children at the time of his death. He was also survived by his brother Edward of Mesa Arizona.
