Clarence Eugene "Gene" Rickey, 75, of Hannibal, died at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal. Mr. Rodger Lane will officiate.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, at the funeral home.
Mr. Rickey was born May 15, 1935, in Mendota, Ill., to Clarence and Carrie Webb Rickey.
He was married on April 21, 1954, in Hannibal to Lola Moore. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Terry Rickey (Christine) of Hannibal; one daughter, Dhana Rickey of Hannibal; six grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Austin, Michaela Rickey and Courtney and Dwayne Tallman; five great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rickey was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Carrie Wilson.
Gene was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in construction and was self-employed.
Gene loved to attend flea markets, liked camping and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion, both of Hannibal. Mr. Rickey was a Christian by faith.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Brown, Darrell Miller, Leonard Rickey, Randy Rickey, Greg Holman and Wesley Palmer.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.
