Katherine B. Wildt, nee Zwicke, 97, Washington, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003, at her residence. Mrs. Wildt, the daughter of Frank Zwicke and his wife Gertrude, nee Beuke, was born Feb. 13, 1906, at Neier. She received her education from St. Gertrude School, Krakow. On Sept. 21, 1926, she was united in marriage to Herman J. Wildt at St. Gertrude Church, Krakow. Mrs. Wildt was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington, and a member of the ladies sodality. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Wildt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 3, 1962; one son, Kenneth Wildt on March 20, 1994; one brother, Raymond Zwicke; and four sisters, Magdalene Wildt, Rose Neier, Mathilda Zwicke and Mary Miesner. She is survived by two sons, Paul Wildt and Donald Wildt and wife Barbara, all of Washington; five daughters, Doris Skornia, Washington, Millie Skouby and husband George, Gerald, Sister Kenneth, O.S.F., Highland, Ill., Helen Hanneken and husband Bob, Villa Ridge, and Carol Straatmann and husband Albert, Villa Ridge; 27 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; other relatives and many friends.
A funeral Mass was held Monday, March 17, at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. Celebrant was the Rev. Kevin Schmittgens from St. Joseph's Church, Neier. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Memorials to the St. Francis Borgia Grade School, the St. Francis Borgia Renovation Fund or to Masses are preferred. The Wildt family was served by Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
