BRADLEY, Mrs. Rosalia Bradley died in Manning, Iowa, at the residence of her stepdaughter, Mrs. Rev. A.W. Thompson, Oct. 18th, 1887, aged 77 years, 9 months and 25 days.

Deceased was a native of Ohio, where the early years of her life were passed. In 1828 she was united in marriage to Mr. Gabriel Culver. Four children were born to them, three of whom are now living.

In 1839 the family came to Cedar County, Ia., where the greater part of her subsequent life was spent. In 1848 her husband died. Two years later she was married to Mr. Luther Bradley, then a widower with four young daughters, and with whom she lived 29 years, when by his death she was again left a widow. In 1881 she moved to Exira, Iowa, where she lived a short time, and then moved to Manning, where she died.

The deceased was for many years a worthy member of the Congregational Church in Tipton, until dismissed to unite with the Presbyterian Church in Manning, Iowa, there being to Congregational Church there.

Her death adds another to the number of the pioneers of Cedar County who have passed over to the other side, leaving only a few scattering representatives on the hither shore. The characteristic of those who thus bring civilization to a new county is unselfish usefulness, and Mrs. Bradley was no exception. Two families of children received from her all a mother's care, and her life abounded in all good works that were within the sphere of her opportunities.

While visiting with friends in this vicinity last summer, she had an attack of illness, from which she never fully recovered, and after her return home was confined to her bed nearly all the time until her death. Her sickness was borne with a sweet serene patience, inspired by an unshaken faith in her Savior. Calmly and peacefully her life closed on earth and her ransomed spirit ascended to the realms of the glorified immortals.

The remains were brought to Tipton, Thursday morning, the 20th, inst., when appropriate services were held in the Congregational Church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A.G. Brande, after which they were interred in the Virginia Grove burying ground.
