Age 88, Lawton - Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday in the First Christian Church with Rev. Kim Hames, Pastor, officiating. Mr. Meek died Wednesday in a local hospital. Burial will be at 4:00 PM in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tulsa, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker Funeral Home.

He was born November 21, 1919 in Tulsa to Leigh Arden and Ruth Marie (Wheeler) Meek. He married Dorothy Louise Bennett in Tulsa on April 14, 1940.

He enlisted in the Army in October of 1938 and retired in May of 1959 serving in both World War II and the Korean Conflict. He earned the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star (M).

After his retirement at Fort Sill he owned and operated Grave-A-Name until 1985. He served as an elder and deacon at First Christian Church where he was elected Elder Emeritus.

Survivors include his wife of the home; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Kent Meek and Fang Ya, Lewis Arden Meek and Karen Scott and Richard David Meek and Joanie; 10 grandchildren, Adelbert Meek, Lauren K. Marshall, Faith Marie Carrizales, Darlene Rose Clevenger, Scott Allan Meek, Julia Anne Chambers,, Daniel Preston Meek, Phillip Kanjuka, Preston Michael Meek and Breanna L. Scott; 10 great grandchildren, Kristen Meek, Matthew Farrow, Kaitlynn Meek, Anthony Joshua "A.J." Carrizales, Amber Farrow, Jessica Chambers, John Chambers, Audrey Meek, Jacqueline Marshall and Roman Meek; foster children, Barbara and Michael Crotty; foster grandchildren, Adam Crotty and Caresse Crotty; foster great grandchildren, Ian Crotty and Emma Crotty; special friends, Bryan and Ida Mae Wheeler; and many others.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Minton Wheeler Meek, and a great grandson, Joshua Meek.
