Charles Henry Brunger was the first-generation American born in our Brunger family's line in America, his arriving from England in 1853 and thereafter settling as farmers near Wyoming, Stark County, in 1866.

Charles H. Brunger once operated a steam thresher outfit for farms in the area of Stark County, and he later applied his mechanical talents into his later vocation as an engineer and inventor. Charles H. Brunger had several patents for his inventions, from farm equipment machinery for John Deere and others, to automobile engines for the Velie Car Company of Moline. He also served as an engineer or designer for a railroad in Florida at one point.

Farewell dear Charles, My husband dear.
You are not dead, but sleeping here.
You lived in peace, you died in peace.
