PAUL D BETTS 'PAPPY'--71; GardenCity, died Thursday [12-16] at Minneola LongTerm Care. He was born 8 May 1933 at Detroit, a son of Walter & Marian Betts. A GardenCity resident since 1966, moving from DodgeCity, he was owner/operator of Tree Care Experts & several night clubs, also working as a bar tender at Eagles Lodge, all-GardenCity. He belonged to Bible ChristianChurch, EaglesLodge & Veterans of Foreign Wars-all GardenCity. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include 4 sons: Bobby Dean-Bullhead City AZ; Lelyn-Larned; Travis-KansasCity MO; & Mark Goodwin-Fowler; 6 daus: Kari Cargile-Dickerson TX, Tanya Kleeman-Fowler; Beatrice Ledesma, Connie Huber-both GardenCity, Shelia Cox-Overbrook; & Lisa Bullock-Larned; a bro: Richard-California; 23 grandchildren; & 8 gr-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 bros: WalterJr & Ronald; & a sis: Judy Sanders.
Funeral will be Monday morning [12-20] at Bible Christian Church-GardenCity, with Pastor Jeff Starkey presiding. Cremation will follow funeral, with inurnment at a later date. Friends may call at Price &Sons Funeral Home-GardenCity. Memorials may be sent to the Paul Betts Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
