Mrs. Deuel Laid to Rest
Services were held at the Peterson-Johnson Funeral Home Wednesday May 8, for Mrs. Ira Deuel with Rev. Harold Hansen officiating. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Albertine Georgina Foss was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 29, 1877 and on October 12, 1896, she was united in marriage to Ira Wellington Deuel, who preceded her in death on September 26, 1953.
They made their home on a farm in Milo township where three sons and one daughter were born. In 1930 they retired from the farm and move to Foreston where they made their home until the fall of 1952. Because of poor health it was impossible for Mrs. Deuel to carry on her household duties. She moved to the Herman Brockert home and in the following year she was joined there by her husband.
Mrs. Deuel had suffered rheumatism a greater part of her life and the past 20 years she carried out her home duties with the aid of crutches. She was confined to a wheelchair, and the last year she was bedridden.
She was removed to Memorial hospital on Saturday May 4, and passed away on Monday May 6 at 9:15pm. She had reached the age of 79 years, six months and seven days.
She is survived by her three sons, Lester, Milaca; Percy and Ira of Foreston; and a daughter, Mrs. Clair Bemis, Estes Brook; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Agnes Deuel of Elmira, New York; Mrs. Lena Goad, Foreston; and Mrs. Josephine Axt of Milaca; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
