William Nelson Brandenberg, 67, born in Hutton township, lifelong resident of Coles county, and for the past nine years a citizen of Charleston, died in his home, 1398 Adams street at 4:45 o'clock on Sunday afternoon after a three years illness of cancer. He had been seriously ill only three weeks.

Funeral services will be conducted in the residence at 10:30 o'clock on Tuesday morning by the Reverend H. L. Hayes. The interment will be in Maplehill cemetery, Westfield. The body was removed to the Schouten & Lewis Funeral Home, 815 Jackson street, to be prepared for burial.

Mr. Brandenberg, who farmed in Hutton township for many years, was well known here. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Minnie Brandenberg, and the following children; H. E. Brandenberg, Ordway, Colo., Mrs. J. H. Sprague of Casey, Mrs. Ed. Connelly of McPherson, Kan., Mrs. R. F. Whittle of Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. J. L. Sidwell of Charleston, E. L. Brandenberg of Westfield, Mrs. Clayton Merrick of Mt. Erie, Ill., and Miss Peggy and Miss Eunice Brandenberg, at home. He also leaves two brothers, George Brandenberg of Greenup and Clayton Brandenberg of Casey, and nine grandchildren.
