SPEARMAN, Tex., Feb. 20 - (AP) - Funeral services were held here today for R.B. Archer, 52, one of the few remaining large cattle operators in this section, who was killed in an auto crash between Perryton and Booker Saturday.

He is survived by his widow, six sons, six brothers, Judge Roy Archer of Austin, San and Sam Archer of Amarillo, Ben Archer of Sunray and Otis and Branchford Archer of Canyon; two sisters, Mrs. Claude Sheets of Spearman, and Mrs. Lewis Carr of Pagosa Springs, Colo.

Victim of Overturning Auto One of Few Large Cattlemen

SPEARMAN, Feb. 19 - R.B.Archer, cattleman, was killed instantly here late Saturday night when his car overturned after a tire had been punctured. He was 52 years old.

Dist. Judge Roy C. Archer of Austin, the victim's brother, who arived [sic] here Sunday said the car turned over three times. Arriving here with Judge Archer Sunday were two sons of the accident victim, Dan and Carl, both University of Texas students.

A pioneer Plains cattleman, he was one of the few large cattle operators left in a once exclusive cattle county.

Born in Bell county, he moved to Hansford county in 1900.

Funeral services will be held here Monday at 2:30 p.m. Survivors are his widow; five sons, R.B., Jr., Dan, Carl, Oscar, and Charles Patton [sic]; six brothers, Judge Roy C. Archer of Austin, Dan Archer of Amarillo, Otis Archer of Canyon, Sam Archer of Amarillo, Branch T. Archer of Amarillo and Ben Archer of Spearman; and two sisters, Mrs. Louis Carr of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Claude Sheets of Spearman.
