Margaret Jane Cullins Echtle, age 67, of San Antonio, TX passed away on May 12, 2010 in San Antonio. She was born Sept. 19, 1942 in Sabinal, TX to the late Thomas Sanford and Anna Alice Johnson Cullins. She is also preceded in death by a great grandchild. Jane was a 1960 graduate of Castroville High School. She had worked as a police officer in Alamo Heights and Leon Valley and also as a substitute teacher for Medina Valley High School. Survivors include her husband, Julius P. Echtle; daughter, Debra Echtle all of San Antonio; sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Shelley Echtle of Forney, TX, and Roy Thomas Echtle of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jessica Smith and Jennifer and Rodney Alburtus; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Michael and Shirley Cullins of Utopia, TX; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Joyce Echtle of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous other friends. The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to her care provider, Ester Garcia and best friend, Pat Nicholson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Margare Jane Echtle Memorial Fund c/o Julius P. Echltle, P.O. Box 836, Castroville, TX 78009. Her body will be cremated and a Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in La Coste, TX.
