Alvin L. Chance, 81 3110 Noblesville Road, Nashville, Tennessee, died Friday, June 16,1995 in Summitt Medical Center in Donaldson, Tennessee.
Born Dec.12, 1913 in Scottsburg. He was the son of Clem Chance and Celia Francis Hunt.He had lived in Rushville for 17 years and had lived in Nashville since 1991. He was a farmer in Rush, Hancock and Decatur counties for several years. He married the former Erma Deloris Brown and she preceded him in death Jan. 26, 1955. He then married the former Elizabeth Helen Rindt Sept. 22, 1955 and she died Oct. 28, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters; Dorothy Hood, Rushville, and Mary Frances Sandlin, New Castle: three sons; John David Chance and James Richard Chance, both of Warren Ohio and Charles Edwin Chance, Nashville, Tennessee; three sisters; Edith (Mrs. Gene)Doll, Dublin, Ethel Leighton, Alvin Texas, and Nora Minyard, New Castle; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son , one grandson, two brothers, and two great-grandchildren.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday at Moster and Cox Mortuary in Rushville with the Rev. Kenneth Bates officiating. Buriel will be in East hill Cemetery. Visitation is after 11 a.m. Monday at the mortuary.
