Mrs. J.D. Yeoman Passed Away Friday

Mary Jane Jones was born July 26, 1866 in Franklin County, Indiana and died July 14, 1939. She was the oldest daughter of the Rev. J.W. and Sarah (Cowan) Jones.

She was united in marriage to John Darius Yeoman July 2, 1882. To this union were born twelve children, four sons Eldon, Earl, Axtell and Harold preceding her in death.

She leaves to mourn her loss, besides her husband, three sons, Floyd of Pomeroy, Wash., Charles of Fremont and Reinhold of Oskaloosa; five daughters, Mrs. Nina Moore of Leavenworth, Kans., Mrs. Jessie Kliver of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Dotte (Fannie)Longcor of Eddyville, Mrs. Ruth Johnston and Mrs. Blanche Fell of Fremont; twenty- seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. T.N. McFall of Fenton Ia., and Mrs. C.J.Quick of St. Louis, Mo.

She had lived in this community nearly all her life, moving here with her parents from Indiana at the age of six years. She joined the Baptist church in childhood and later united with the Highland Friends church. Services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Van Breman at the Friends church at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, and burial was in the family lot in the Cedar township cemetery.

Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Chas. Quick, of St. Louis, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. T. N. McFall and daughter Mrs. Rex Wolfe of Fenton, Ia., Orin McFall of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Chas. Hix and family of Martinsburg, Mrs. Nina Moore of Leavenworth Ks.

The following poem was written by a daughter, Mrs. Jessie Kliver and dedicated to her upon her decease.

My Dear Little Mother

They tell me you're leaving,
You're going to bid us farewell;
We miss you, we love you,
Our hearts are all breaking,
Our sorrow none ever can tell.
Full well you have served us,
You gave us all birth,
Your hair has turned white with the years,
You're weary, rest well
May the good earth enfold you,
We wish you sweet dreams through our tears.
There was never another
Like our little Mother,
So bravely you toiled through the days;
Thru joy, and thru gladness,
Thru sorrow and sadness,
Now comes the parting of ways.
It will never be home without you dear Mother,
Life can never again be the same;
All life is a gamble, the reason we know not,
We win or lose out in the game,
In spirit we'll rise to meet you in prayer,
Away from the earth realms of pain;
Tho we grieve for you daily,
We'll not wish you here,
We know that our loss is your gain.
So free be your heart from its restless tides,
May you dwell where days are not numbered;
Stand facing the wind and melt into the sun,
And seek your God unencumbered.
