Mass of Christian burial for Sister Grace Tash, a member of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, will be at 4 p.m. Friday in the chapel at the Convent of the Holy Names at Marylhurst.
Office of the Dead for Sister Grace will be private.
She died Wednesday in a Portland hospital at the age of 70.
Sister Grace, who was born in Walla Walla, was raised in California, where she entered the community of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Los Angeles in 1933.
Sister Grace taught in California, British Columbia, Texas and Ohio from 1935 to 1970. In 1972, after the Immaculate Heart sisters made decisions in 1970 that would change their lifestyle, she entered the Sisters of the Holy Names at Marylhurst and pronounced her final vows in December 1973. She subsequently taught at Marist High School in Eugene and in Portland at St. Andrews and St. Ignatius parochial schools and St. Mary's Academy.
From 1982, when she retired from teaching, until her death, she resided at the Convent of the Holy Names at Marylhurst.
She is survived by a sister, Ruth Emrick of McLean, Va.
Sister Grace's cousin, Monsignor William Stone of Bend, will be the principal celebrant at the funeral Mass.
Burial will be in the convent cemetery at Marylhurst.
