A funeral was Thursday, Aug. 14 at the Beulah F.W.B. of the Pentecostal Faith Church. Burial followed in the Hicks Hill Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her son, Danny Ray Cook; and nine brothers and sisters.
Born in Florence County, Mrs. Cook was a daughter of the late Sam Wilkes and Annie Matthews Wilkes. She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church of Apopka, Fla.
Surviving are her husband, Charles Laverne Cook of Scranton; a daughter, Joyce (Robert) Cooke of Savan-nah; three sons, Jimmy Laverne Poston of Florence, Franklin Poston of Florida, and Jerry Cook of Sanford, Fla.; a sister, Magdalene Smith of Effingham; a brother James Wilkes of Florence;11 grandchil
dren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
