Age 85, a resident of Derby-Commerce Town-Commerce City, CO for 60 Years, died peacefully at Home Sept. 12, 2009. Born, March 1924 in Haswell, CO, Norma Lee was a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader and volunteer in the late 50's through early 70's, and a gardener. She participated in ceramic classes at the Derby and Commerce City recreation Centers for more than thirty years. Her love for detail, made her figurines look lifelike. She was preceded in death by her husband John Joe Abendschan (2005) and a son, Gary Abendschan (1950). Her spirit lives on in her daughters, Carol Crowe, of Alexandria, VA, Bonnie Abendschan of Commerce City, CO & Diana Hood of Salida, CO; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Visitation: 5-8 PM, Fri., 9/18 and Funeral Services 10 AM Sat., 9/19, at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Metro Chapel, 190 Potomac St., Aurora, CO 80011. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs. Donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 4350 Wadsworth Blvd., Ste 250, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033, 303-639-9243, www. Vistacare.com.
