Mrs. Alger was born Feb. 28, 1925, in Shenandoah, and was a daughter of the late Noah Lee Clem Sr. and Flossie Virginia Foltz Clem.
She graduated from Shenandoah High School. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in Elkton, where she was active until becoming ill.
On June 15, 1946, she married William H. "Bill" Alger , who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Brenda A. Conley of Elkton, and Barbara A. Wessels of Belmond, Iowa; two brothers, Noah Lee Clem Jr. of Shenandoah, and Roy Dale Clem of Grottoes; four sisters, Mary Katherine Baugher and Phyllis Reid, both of Elkton, and Eva Dean and Dorothy May, both of Shenandoah; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Thomas Madren and Alda Gunn will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. today at Bethel United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery.
Friends were received Sunday night at the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home in Elkton. Friends may call at theAlger home at any time.
