Church Benjamin Morris was the son of John H. and Margaret E. Medley Morris. He first married Nancy Evaline Hughes, daughter of Aaron and Phoebe Jordon Hughes, on Jan. 9, 1878 in Morgan County, Ohio. They had six children: Jessie (Roberts), Miner Prentiss, Nellie (McKelvey), Bertha (Jeffries), Perry, and Fay Nita (Hall).
