A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday for Mary Louise Mondich, 1811 Memorial Drive, Farrell. She died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2002, in her home after an extended illness. She was 53.

Mrs. Mondich was born Feb. 10, 1947, in Sharon to Gaylord and Bertha Beyer Brown.

A 1965 alumna of Hermitage High School, she earned her degree in 1969 from Slippery Rock University and retired in 1999 after 30 years as a school teacher for Hermitage School District.

Mrs. Mondich was a member of Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage.

She also belonged to Croatian Catholic Union Lodge 29 in Sharon; American Business Women's Association; and Hermitage Teachers Association.

Surviving are: her husband, Michael Mondich, whom she married Aug. 4, 1973; and a son, Michael V. Mondich, both at home in Farrell; her mother, Hermitage; one sister, Mrs. Christopher (Norma) Haas; and one brother, William Brown, both Columbus, Ohio; one niece, Laura Haas; and one nephew, Jim Haas.

Mrs. Mondich was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1994.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
