Mrs. Beatley was born July 27, 1928, in Harlan, Iowa. Her maiden name was Fossell. She was an ''Avon lady'' and was a teaching aide at John Gumm and Condon schools in St. Helens from 1979 to 1993. She was a member of the church. Her husband, Carl, died in 1992.
Survivors include her sons, Gary of St. Helens and Craig of Portland; daughters, Laura L. Conklin of Astoria and Cathy Taylor of St. Helens; and 13 grandchildren.
Disposition is by cremation, with interment in Yankton Hillcrest Cemetery
