J.E. McPherson, 99, of Shady Oaks Nursing Home, died at 5 a.m. Monday in, Hendrick Memorial Hospital, after a long illness. Funeral is pending at Kiker Warren Funeral Home.


Born Nov 6, 1874, in Dallas, he married Myrtle Graves, in 1896, in Venus, she died in 1939.

He married Mrs. Annie Flynn in Dallas, in 1941. she died in 1979.


Mr. McPherson moved to Abilene in 1919, from Knox City and was in the real estate and insurance business. He moved to Dallas, in 1941 and lived there until March 1970, when he moved to Shady Oaks Lodge.


Survivors and two daughter; Mrs. Ernest Harber and Thelma McPherson, both of 2033 Sylvan; two sons, A.B. of San Gabriel, California and f.B. of Midland; a daughter in law, Mrs. P.G. McPherson of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. William Yates of San Antonio and Mrs. John Casstevens of Burleson; three grandchildren, including Dr. William King, 2310 Crescent Street. He was preceded in death by a son in 1962.
