Docha Shewman
Mrs. Docha SHEWMAN, 75, died Friday at her home at the Stanley trailer court, Silver Lake, following a two-year illness.
Born Dec. 14, 1894 in Fulton county, she was the daughter of Shireman and Rosetta KROFT SIPPY. She had resided all her life in the Silver Lake and Akron area. She was married Aug. 24, 1918 in Akron to Ray SHEWMAN, who preceded in death. She was a member of the Center United Methodist church at Silver Lake and the WSCS of the church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Marion (Esther) IRELAND, Roann; Mrs. Robert (Edith) CARR, Silver Lake, and Mrs. Franklin (Dorothy) ALBERTSON, Mishawaka; a son, Russell [SHEWMAN], of Rochester; twenty-one grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Margaret LaROCCO, South Bend, and a brother, David SIPPY, Manhattan Beach, Cal. A daughter, two sons, a sister and a brother preceded in death.
Last rites will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Center United Methodist church with the Rev. Kenneth COHEE officiating. Burial will be in the Akron cemetery. Friends may call at the Sheetz funeral home at Akron after 2 p.m. Snday until noon Monday and at the church for one hour before services.
