She was born in Floyd Co., Va. to the late Benjamin and Ida Spangler Yopp. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Jackson Price; twin brother, Brice Yopp; and sister, Ruby Yopp Weeks.
She is survived by her husband, Grover W. Atkins, of Blacksburg; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia Dare and Paige Bishop, of Hartfield, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Edward and Mary Fugate Price, of Wake Forrest, N.C.; grandchildren, Russell Bishop and wife, Carolyn Cios Bishop, of Powhatan, Va., Jennifer Surowitz and husband, Dr. Joshua Surowitz, of Chapel Hill, N.C., Andrew Price, of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Ralph Yopp, of Christiansburg.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, May 24, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Graveside will follow Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wesley Memorial Methodist Church, Martinsville, Va., or Slusser's Chapel Church of God, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service Monday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
