Jonny Cannon
Jonny Cannon, 58, of Olathe, died Sept. 19, 1979 in a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 169 north of Hillsdale. She was born March 26, 1921 at Centralia. She was a nurse’s aide at the Good Samaritan Center in Olathe. Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Wava Allen, Centralia, Mrs. Hazel Newlin, Horton, Mrs. Twilia Fearing, Lawrence, and Mrs. Violet Thompson, Brookfield, Ill. The body was cremated Thursday.

Jonny Cannon
Jonny D. Cannon, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. W.S. Shoemaker, was born March 26, 1921 at Centralia. She died on September 19, 1979, as a result of a tragic car accident which also took the life of her husband, Zepphrey Cannon. Jonny grew up in Centralia and graduated from Centralia High School. She also attended Kansas State University at Manhattan. For many years she has been employed as a nurse’s aide at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home at Olathe. She was employed there at the time of her death. She found deep satisfaction in helping those less fortunate that herself. Her father, mother and three sisters preceded her in death. Surviving are four remaining sisters, Wava Jane Allen of Centralia. Hazel A. Newlin or Horton, Weila M. Fearing of Lawrence, Violet E. Thomas of Brookfield, Ill. A short memorial service was held for Jonny at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Olathe, where she worked. Graveside services are pending at the Fairview Cemetery where she will be laid to rest. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home of Paola, were in charge of the services.

She was the youngest daughter of Wayland Starr Shoemaker and his wife, Florence Domer Shoemaker. Sourk was the name of one of her husbands, I believe. She was married several times. Cheryl White
