James K. Polk Dochterman, son of Mrs. Rosanna and Jesse Dochterman, was born near New London, Iowa, February 14, 1845 and departed this life at the home of his son, William, near Luray, December 31, 1924, aged at demise 79 years, 11 months, and 14 days.

He came to Missouri when but a small boy, eleven years old. He spent the rest of his life in this community. He was united in marriage to Miss Martha Ann Martin.

He leaves to mourn his departure, a wife, three sons and two daughters: William Dochterman, near Luray; Mrs. Grace Arthur, Amy, Colorado; Jesse Dochterman near Wyaconda; James Dochterman and Mrs. Zora Billings, near Granger, also eleven grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was laid to rest in the Combs Cemetery at Luray.
