Ruth Emily Crider, RN - 96, of Indianapolis, died Sunday, March 8, 2015.

She was born in Austin, IN on October 4, 1918 to Reverend Ralph and Clara (Schwennesen) Crider, the first of three children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Robert and Richard.

She graduated from Acton High School, attended Franklin College and received her nursing degree from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was one of the first nurses to enter into the field of Industrial nursing after WWII in 1941. She worked 45 years in the Indianapolis area, retiring after 25 years at WABCO. She loved her work and felt it was her true "calling".

She loved her many friends and considered them a part of her family. She also had a great love in her heart for animals.

She was a long time member of the Acton United Methodist Church and attended Edgewood Methodist Church.

Burial will be at the Acton Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 17th at Little & Sons Funeral Home Beech Grove Chapel from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Acton United Methodist Church on Wednesday March 18th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. till time of service.
