Obit in The Anthon Herald, 28 October 1946, page 1: Funeral services for Mrs. William O'Neill, 67, of Anthon who died at her home on Monday, October 19, 1964, after a lingering illness were held Thursday afternoon, October 22, at the First Methodist Church in Anthon with Rev. Wesley Frank and Rev. Merle Benson of Northwood officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery under direction of Walter Funeral Home. Lucile Agnes O'Neill, daughter of Lida and Harold Heidelberg, was born June 16, 1897, at Anthon. She graduated from Anthon High School in 1915, and then attended Iowa State University at Ames, graduating in 1919 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She returned to Anthon and taught school here for two years before entering Drake University to study music. After finishing her studies at Drake she again returned to Anthon as a music teacher. She resided in Anthon for the remainder of her life. She married Dr. William O'Neill on November 2, 1923, at Anthon. They established their home in Anthon and he began his dental practice here. Mrs. O'Neill was his assistant in his dental practice. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Anthon where she had for many years been active in church as a soloist, organist and member of the Women's Society of Christian Service. She was a past worthy matron of Thonna Chapter 423, Order of Eastern Star, and a past president of the Anthon's Women's Club. She also belonged to Alpha Delta Pi Fraternity Order. She is survived by her husband, Dr. William O'Neill, and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and one sister, who died in infancy, preceded her in death.
