Mr. Lester W. Ransier, 78, of Goldendale, passed away November 30, 1994 in The Dalles, Ore.

He was born on March 23, 1916 at Bickleton to Albert and Alice Ransier. He attended schools in Mabton.

Lester married Mary Stubbs on June 1, 1936 at Pasco. They lived in Sunnyside for 34 years where Lester was a machine operator for the Sunnyside Cannery.

While living in Sunnyside he was very active in the Calvary Baptist Church, serving as usher and deacon.

The couple moved to Goldendale in 1978.

Lester was a member of the First Baptist Church in Goldendale and enjoyed rock hunting and wood working.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ransier of Goldendale; one son, Glen Ransier of Soap Lake, Wash.; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Mary) Linderman of The Dalles; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Etta Hudson of Mabton and Alice Arnold of Spokane.

Lester is the grandson of Charles Bickle, the founder of Bickleton, Wash.
