Elwood John Arner, 48, husband of Dorothy Eisenback Arner of 1213 Thistlewood land, West Chester, died yesterday at the Bryn Mawr Hospital.
Born at Park Place he was the son of Francis P. and Jeannette Lindeman Arner of 144 W. Union Street, West Chester.
A resident of the West Chester area for the pas 18 years he had previously lived at Delano. He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, West Chester, and had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was an avid model railroad hobbyist.
Mr. Arner was employed at the Paoli Post Office as a rural carrier for eight years and had recently transferred to the Glenn Mills Post Office where he worked in the same capacity.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by four daughters, Lynn K., wife of Robert F. Yoder of West Chester; Miss Janet A. Arner of Littleton, Colo.; Susan D., wife of Charles McGrogan of Frederica, Del. and Donna E. Arner, at home. Also a son, Richard F., at home and two grandchildren.

Founds Funeral Home, High & Union sts., West Chester, Pa., on Monday, Nob. 16, 1970 at 11 a.m. Interment Green Mount Cemetery, Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday evening 7 til 9. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Leukemia Society of America, Inc., 121 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, Pa.

Funeral services for Elwood John Arner, husband of Dorothy Eisenbach Arner, of 1213 Thistlewood la., West Chester, were held yesterday from the Oliver P. Founds Funeral Home, West Chester at 11 a.m.
The Rev. Elwood Reitz, pastor of the Calvary Lutheran Church was in charge.
Interment was in Greenmount Cemetery with the following bearers: Marple Lewis, Joseph Hanlon, Joseph Kelusa, Capt. Angel Norat, Samuel Miller and Edward Aumiller. Honorary bearer was Carl Force.
