James A. "Jim" Ambrose, 67, of Pana, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. He was born July 10, 1940 in Pana, the son of Andrew M. "Andy" and Mildred E. White Ambrose. Jim graduated from Pana High School in 1958, and lived his entire life in Pana. He retired from Firestone in 1995. Jim loved fishing on Pana Lake, and he was also of the Lutheran faith. He was also a past member of the Pana Elks Lodge and Pana Moose Lodge. Jim also served on the Pana Tri-County Fair Board for several year.
He married Judy Hartman on September 3, 1960 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pana.
Jim is survived by his wife: Judy Ambrose, Pana, IL; children: Michael Ambrose, Pana, IL & Tony Ambrose & wife Tina, Pana, IL. They also raised a niece, Gayle Hanlin & husband Craig, Leroy, IL & a nephew, Rob Ambrose & wife Judy, Cummings, GA. He is also survived by a special niece: Angel Buchberger & husband Tony, Normal, IL; grandchildren: Andrea, Lauren, Jorgia, Alley, Megan, Gabrielle, Mackenzie, Addison, Caden, & Anna; and brothers & sisters: Ron Ambrose & wife Sharon, Tower Hill, IL; Robert "Bob" Ambrose, Rosamond, IL; & Andrea "Dee" Ambrose, Pana, IL. Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be Saturday, January 12, 2008 in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Lawrence Gibson officiating. There will be no visitation.
