Edith Christian
Edith Nan-Nan Christian, age 68, of Lincoln Buchanan Lane, Minneapolis, died Sunday, October 28, 2007 at her residence.
A native of Butler, TN, and a daughter of the late Jadie William Cable and the late Lue Stout Cable; she went to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation right after high school and later in her life worked for the Green Valley Developmental Center. One of her passions in life was helping disabled kids, and she cherished her times with the Special Olympics. Edith enjoyed crocheting and bird watching, and was known by her family and friends as a very caring and a very stubborn lady. Her last career was as a Teachers Assistant with the Avery County Public Schools.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, a daughter, Jan Christian of Minneapolis; son, Alan Christian, and his wife, Mary, of Elizabethton, TN; brother, Jimmie Cable, and his wife, Margaret, of Kingsport, TN; grandsons, Michael Christian of Arizona, Dakota Christian of Elizabethton, TN; granddaughter, Nichole Christian of Minneapolis.
Graveside services for Edith Christian will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 30, in the Lowe Cemetery in Banner Elk, with the Rev. Reed Callahan officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Center, 5005 LBJ Fwy., Ste. 250, Dallas, TX 75244.
