Robert M. Beckstead, 81, of Springville, passed away on Tuesday, Auguest 23, 2005. He was born on September 30, 1923 in Spanish Fork, UT to Moses William Augustus and Mary Annie Christina Kramer Beckstead. he married Thelma Olene Peterson on May 2, 1947. She later died in a car accident. He then married Alice Price Muir in 1962. They later diverced. He then married Allie Sudweekds (Goble) on May 7, 1988.
Robert worked as a brick masno at Geneva Steel for 35 years and also at the Provo temple for 15 years. He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean wars. He was a High Priest, enjoyed working on genealogy, and love to travel.
He is survived by his wife, Allie; children: Marsh (Gilby) Gilbert, Mary (Randy Bird, Janey Nelson, Diane (Brian) Robinson, and Susan Robinson; step-children: Dahl Goble, Gwen (Slade) Mathews, Linda (Mack) Hatfield, Dennis (Lynda) Goble; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children: Donald Beckstead and Marylin Cardall; step-child, Jean Goble; and his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Firday, August 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Main Street LDS Chapel, 55 North Main, Springville. Friends and family may call on Thrusday evening form 6-8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, or at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Santaquin City Cemetery.
