Age 86, Lawton - Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bobbie McGarey, Interim Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating After a long illness Doug met his Lord Wednesday morning. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

He was born June 5, 1923 in Thorney, Arkansas to Fred and Nola Pearl (Homesley) Faulkner. He married Edna Boone on August 18, 1939 in Arkansas, and she died on May 26, 1997. He was employed by the Nash Finch Company for several years before becoming a manager for Southwest Sales. Doug was a member of the Mount Scott Masonic Lodge for many years. He was known for writing poetry and singing hymns for his family and friends.

He is survived by three daughters, Shirley and her husband Kenneth Legum of Monroe, Georgia, Elizabeth Garrett and Judy and her husband Rodney Drake all of Lawton; five grandchildren, his namesake Douglas Brown, Darren Brown, John Garrett, Jennifer Hoffman and Beth Legum; four great grandchildren Ashley Brown, D J Brown, Amy Beth Garrett and Cooper Morrow; and a brother and his wife, Tex and Laverle Faulkner of Grand Junction, Colorado.

His parents, a granddaughter, Shannon Kelly O'Dell, and four brothers, Billy Faulkner, Allen Faulkner, Cecil Faulkner and Max Faulkner preceded him in death.
