Mrs. Eva C. Abernathy, 71, of Pottsville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, November 18, 1992 at AMI St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Russellville, Arkansas.

She was a retired employee of Saint Mary's Regional Hospital as a Nurse's Aide. She was a native of Gatley Hill, Arkansas, daughter of the late Charles Fair and Mae Culpepper Braizer. She was a former member of the Eastern Star and a Baptist.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Abernathy.

She was survived by a son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Sherron Abernathy of Hobart, Indiana; a daughter and son-in-law, Freida and Neil Edmonson of Pottsville; two brothers Reece Brazier of Florida and Lawton Brazier of Kentucky; two half-brothers, Dalton Brazier and Ray Brazier both of Arkansas; three sisters; LaVaughn Bentley of Hamilton, Montana, Geneva Via of Lake Station, Indiana and Mildred Keeling of Centerville, Arkansas; a sister-in-law, Bernice Abernathy of Russellville, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Jay Edmondson of Orlando, Florida, Julia Brown of Springfield, Missouri, Darin Abernathy of Delmotte, Indiana. and Kevin Abernathy of Valpariso, Indiana; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were November 21, 1992 at Shinn Chapel, Russellville, with the Reverend David McLemore officiating. Burial was in Birta Cemetery at Birta, Arkansas. Pallbearers were Harry Tucker, Ira Shinn, Leonard Keeling, Jerry Williams, Patrick Young, and Jack Smith.
