Wade Hampton Roquet suffers compound fracture when his horses ran away.

Wade Roquet of Plum Creek Township, met with an accident while at the stock yards in Beloit which will lay him up from active life on the farm for some time. He was unloading at the Missouri Pacific stock yards when a freight train came along and scared the team. Mr Roquet got hold of the lines all right when the horses started, but they ran up against a steep bank a few yards away tipping the wagon in such a way as to throw him toward the bank and the back wheel came down upon the left leg, hitting just above the ankle. The injured man was removed to the home of his father-in-law, Henry Birt, on North Lincoln Avenue, and Dr. D.S. O'Brien was summoned. It was found that the injury was quite severe and that a compound fracture of the leg had been suffered. It is doubly unfortunate that Mr. Roquet should receive an injury of this nature at this time of the year as beyond the suffering he will have to undergo he will proabably have to forego all work at a time when there is so much to be done.
